Owolabi advises Nwosu on Eaglets
Tuesday, 20 January 2009

EX-INTERNATIONAL, Felix Owolabi (MON) has advised the chief coach of the Golden Eaglets, Henry Nwosu (MON) to get down to work and give Nigerians something to cheer about at the 2009 U-17 World Cup holding in Nigeria later in the year.

Speaking with Tribunesports in Abuja before embarking on pilgrimage to Jerusalem, the former Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) player said the task before Nwosu is very enormous.

“He should stop making noise on the pages of newspapers and get down to work. He should go round to watch league matches, pick the various players who fall within the age category and verify their data with the league board before using them.

"I know that their records are available, this is to avoid being embarrassed by the eligibility of the players for the competition then; he should map out good and achievable programmes for the boys and should work cordially with his assistants.

“That is the only way he could achieve what Nigerians expects from him,” he said.

Owo Blow as he is fondly called by his admirers further reminded the U-17 chief coach that anything short of winning the trophy, Nigerians would adjudge him as a failure.
