The Sao Paulo-born Amauri, 27, scored an impressive 15 goals in 34 league appearances for the Sicillian outfit in 2007/08 and joins the Bianconeri on a four-year contract. Amauri moved to Palermo from AC Chievo Verona in summer 2006 as a replacement for Luca Toni, having previously spent time with SSC Napoli and on loan at FC Messina and Piacenza Calcio.

Travelling in the opposite direction is midfielder Nocerino. The 23-year-old made his Italy debut in October's friendly against South Africa and was a regular as Juve finished third in the top-flight to qualify for the third qualifying round of Europe's premier club competition. He will face competition for a place in the Rosanero midfield from Fabio Liverani, 32, who has agreed a three-year contract after a free transfer from ACF Fiorentina.

European chance

Meanwhile, Antonio Langella has left Atalanta BC to join UEFA Cup contenders Udinese Calcio for an undisclosed fee. The 31-year-old, who has penned a one-year-deal with the Zebrette, was lured by the chance to play in UEFA club competition, admitting that "the possibility of playing in Europe had a big impact on my decision".
